"I'd like to thank all the young readers in Birmingham who voted for Roxy's Baby to win the Escapes Book Award, and also those who didn't!  Because I had such a wonderful day in Birmingham, meeting so many pupils and talking about books.  What could be better!  Thank you all for making the day so special.  The organisers should pat themselves on the back.  You did a terrific job.  The award now sits in my cabinet and it looks fantastic!
